Beachside apartment.

The brief for this open plan kitchen, living, dining space within a beachside apartment was to create separate zones for each purpose and to create layers of texture and interest in an otherwise architecturally unremarkable space. The first stage of the process was the refurbishment of the existing kitchen including introducing timber veneer to the joinery and open shelving to provide visual interest in a predominantly white scheme. We then added custom sofas and chairs to fit the compact spaces, rattan chairs for the ends of the dining table which could double as additional lounge seating, cushions in textural linens, an ottoman in a soft leather, tribal artworks, a soft textured woollen rug to soften the hard edges and feature pendants to define the separate areas.
